A bit about theB&B
This suite is on the floor below the lobby, next to the Jean de Brienne Suite.  Because these suites are close together, we recommend them for two pairs of friends.

The suite contains an antique French bathtub instead of your standard Jacuzzi.  The elegant space is of European style and the furniture is handcrafted of wood.  There are exclusive art objects, lovely living room suite, a full wood bed and LED screen with home entertainment system. }

This time our adventure takes place right there, in the heart of the village of Ein Kerem, which has long become one of Jerusalem's most beautiful tourist gems, offering its guests an abundance of entertainment venues, restaurants, galleries, and cultural centers.
We will set off for "Montana" – a unique boutique hotel with four luxurious suites, located in the oldest building in the area, which was built about 1000 years ago as a Crusader lodge. The house was recently restored with care and sensitivity, with the aim of preserving the authentic atmosphere – even the name of the hotel - "Montana" (the original name of Ein Kerem during the Crusader period, which means "the mountain village") - testifies to the special relationship of its owners to its ancient roots.
Location and ambience
"When God distributed the measure of beauty to the world, Jerusalem received most of it." I will venture to add a proverbial "addition" to the famous sentence (with which many of the city's residents and admirers will surely agree): The considerable portion of that divine beauty is hidden in Ein Kerem, an ancient Jerusalem neighborhood located next to the western entrance to the city.

The stunning Ein Kerem boasts a rich and fascinating history, and its ghosts from the past hover over churches, monasteries and residential buildings built of local stone. The village's unique architectural appearance is a combination of design influences from the East and the West over the centuries. The neighborhood is surrounded by ancient grape and olive vineyards and framed by the lush Jerusalem Mountains, which give the place a natural, vibrant and fertile appearance.

The hotel structure consists of 5 vaulted and asymmetrical spaces that once served as knights' halls. The building's conversion into a luxurious guest complex was carried out according to the plans of architect Edna Uzieli. The interior design was carried out by Austrian architect Gunter Koltringer, who specializes in restoring ancient palaces in Europe and transforming them into boutique hotels.

Three levels, built over many periods one above the other, make up the building: the lobby and the Richard Lev-Ari Suite are located on the entrance floor, two additional suites (also recommended for two couples) are located one floor below. Another suite, Gottfried de Bouillon, is on the lowest and oldest level.

A winding staircase leads from the lobby to the shared roof, which is made into an open view terrace that may prove to be the perfect panoramic viewpoint for those who yearn to enjoy a breathtaking view of the valley, the Judean Mountains, and Ein Kerem glowing in the golden light of the church spires and bells.

The original construction combines Byzantine and Islamic architectural influences, which are expressed in the vaulted shape of the spaces, thick stone walls, arched ceilings and windows, arabesques, stone floors and carvings, marble columns and Roman capitals. The design manages to preserve the historic character of the place while emphasizing modern functionality, comfort and luxury.

A largely monochromatic color scheme based on shades of golden sand and soft cream creates a dreamlike atmosphere here, shrouded in a sense of mystery and secrecy. The abundance of lighting fixtures scattered throughout the space give the space an implicit sensuality. The combination of modern elements and original design details creates an intriguing balance between a "museum" feel and a lively, dynamic, changing, and renewing atmosphere.

The spaces are furnished with carpentry details in classic European, ethnic and modern styles, which are characterized by an elegant restraint that leaves the stage for original elements that have been preserved and restored with amazing precision. Each suite in the hotel has a unique character and differs from the others in terms of space size, interior design and furnishing details.

Each suite has a bed with an excellent orthopedic mattress, a living room area with classic European-style furniture, an innovative LED screen, a cinema system, and a jacuzzi (or a French bathtub in the "Baldwin" suite). The bathrooms boast a double rain shower head, and a variety of high-quality cosmetics from "Peter Thomas".

In conclusion:
"Montana" Boutique Hotel offers a unique, intriguing and exciting experience for lovers of history, luxury, art and nature. A romantic vacation with added value.

Nice place, but there are problems. do not recommend

System message: The hosts' response immediately after the surfer's opinion

Golash Hvad:
At first glance, the room we entered looked very beautiful and impressive. Then the problems are revealed.
1. Next door to the room we got, there is a chocolate workshop that starts working at 8:30 in the morning. They are very nice but still make a noise that we woke up from. We had to put earplugs in order to continue sleeping.
2. The room we got is right on a street. It is indeed a picturesque Jerusalem alley, but there is still no feeling of privacy when you want to open the windows and let daylight and fresh air enter the room.
3. In the room we received, the ceiling was relatively low and, therefore, it was not possible to put a normal wardrobe in there. There is a low and uncomfortable wardrobe. Will not suit people with a height of 1.80 and above.
4. The breakfast at "Ein Kerem Inn", very simple and casual food. I have already been to much less prestigious B&Bs that served a breakfast prepared by the owner of the B&B and it was much tastier and more expensive.
5. Beyond all the above problems, when my partner and I arrived at the place, we discovered to our great dismay that the base of the bed was broken. Since it was late, there was no one to talk to anymore and we had to take out the mattress and sleep on the floor. The owner of the guesthouse compensated us with a massage at his expense. He repaired the bed relatively quickly, but the repair was rough.
6. It should be added and said - there is no eating area or equipment for heating food. This is not necessarily a bad thing, but simply a fact that needs to be taken into account.

In conclusion, the concept is beautiful, the design too, but there are fundamental problems because of which I will not recommend my friends to stay there.

The hosts response:
Hello David
I would like to respond to the review following your stay at Hotel Montana

On the day you stayed, you arrived at the hotel to check in early and stayed in the room until you returned at night
According to you, the bed was broken - and you only discovered it at night. Unfortunately, you decided not to contact me so that I could fix the bed, but preferred to sleep on the floor, which is a shame. This decision was wrong because there is a maintenance and cleaning team just for this kind of cases - and apparently the bed was repaired in a short time.
As compensation, you received a 45-minute couple's massage as a gift.

Regarding breakfast:
The meal is served in a restaurant next to the hotel and with which we work regularly and fully.
Regarding the level of food and service - our customers are given the choice to choose from the variety of breakfast offered on the inclusive menu
Omelettes, cheeses, salads, shakes, breads, hot drinks and more and more...
If your choice is not to your liking, you can replace it immediately or alternatively receive a monetary credit or any other preference of yours with the intention of providing the highest service.
Unfortunately you again chose not to comment on it in real time until this review.

Regarding the design of the suite:
The suite in which Lantam was built for about 500 years and is a testimony to what happened in Ein Kerem hundreds of years ago. In order to preserve the original design, we had to carry out long restoration work until the final result, the suite is built so that its walls are rounded to one point like a dome, therefore there are corners in the room that are not intended for standing.
It is important to note that there is no height problem in the room even for a person over 190 cm tall.

In order not to damage the design of the room, we decided to place the cabinet at a low height to allow flow in the design space. It should be noted that the bed is king size 200 x 220.

In principle, the suite does not have a dining area, but there are 2 designed armchairs and a coffee table, as well as a sitting area.
In addition, the suite has a sophisticated coffee machine that grinds fresh coffee beans and froths milk automatically, as well as a coffee and tea corner, a bottle of wine, a bottle of champagne and fruits like the king's hand.

I would be more than happy if you would also raise your complaints in real time - in my opinion you would have more fun and receive better service.

Best regards
Dawn
