Two months ago I celebrated our 311th wedding anniversary with my wife and I remembered how we used to not be able to live five minutes without each other, we answered dozens of phones a day and we didn't need anything but us. I love my wife, but let's face it - if you didn't meet five and a half minutes ago and if you're not at the age where you still wear khakis every Sunday morning, there's a reasonable chance that your reality is a little more balanced. You need your romantic intimacy, but every now and then you also need a little spice...

This is exactly what I found at the orchid estate in Kfar Vardim.

When I park in front of the house in the old neighborhood of the settlement, nothing betrays the secret hidden behind. A big and beautiful house, a green street - nothing out of the ordinary. This changes very quickly when Pnina, who has the heart's place, leads me through the separate entrance deep into the complex.

We pass through the gardens, climb some stairs and enter a nice foyer from which doors split into two sweet sweet suites. There is a pleasant and accurate design and accessories that include the entire "check-list" (jacuzzi-LCD-espresso machine, etc...), but above all it is the restrained intimacy that creates a pleasant and very private feeling.

And if the suite makes a 'V' for your need for intimacy, a glance from its hanging balcony is enough to understand where you will find some spice. 'A little' is an understatement when it comes to the common pool complex that is revealed below (by the way, the access is by stairs outside the building and not directly from the suite).

"Aren't the lots here supposed to be 500 square meters in size?" I ask Pnina in surprise. "Yes," she answers with a smile, "that's why we bought two..." These two have turned into a super-spacious complex, which, in addition to the built-in pool (the size you usually find in 5-unit complexes), you'll also find a large spa jacuzzi, sauna, chaise longues, umbrellas, and a lot of space.

It is even more special when you think that all this is not in some 'hole' on the edge of a mountain in the Galilee, but in a neat settlement with a commercial center, cafes and shops a 2-minute drive away. 'Both and' at its best.

When I say goodbye to a pearl, I remember my wedding day again. Yes, we probably need some of the spice of Orchid Estate...
