A clearly illogical location
Birya is an old and small settlement with a diverse community, located on Mount Canaan above the city of Safed, at an altitude of 800 meters above sea level. This means that the air here is clean, even very clean, the view is spectacular and there are a variety of attractions in the vicinity (restaurants in the Raf, horse riding in Amuka, art and history in Safed and more).
The pine view cabins were difficult for me to find, even with the help of the Viz. I don't know if it was the landscape that confused me, or a high percentage of oxygen in the air, but when I arrived in the area, it just didn't make sense to me to continue driving on the dirt road that seemed to simply hang in the air. Don't worry, this path leads to parking next to the cabins that are located "within the landscape".

The complex: "on the view", with meeting points
There are 3 wooden cabins in the complex: two of them, the "Cypress" cabins sit at the front of the complex closer to the view, and the third, "Arava" sits behind them, but with a certain angle to the view. Its surface area is smaller by 5 square meters, but it enjoys a private and larger outdoor area. Next to it, there is a cabin containing the shared jacuzzi spa. This cabin is surrounded by glass windows, partially overlooks the view and is very accessible to guests (next to the cabins). The shared pool is located on a wooden deck that is right "on the view" and is surrounded by seating areas and sunbeds.

The host house is in the complex and contributes to their availability a lot, and its presence is not there to interfere with privacy. Also in the complex - a barbecue corner with a large and covered picnic table. It is important to note that you cannot barbecue on Shabbat here.

The cabins: taste of the past and excellent maintenance
The cabins themselves are old but well maintained. They are built and designed in a rustic and pleasant way, spacious and contain a double jacuzzi with windows for a view (there is reflective glass for privacy during the day, but not at night), the double bed is only 1.40 wide (some actually find this an advantage) and in front of it there is a sitting area and a kitchenette (it is not possible to cook).

You can feel the view mainly while sitting on the private swing outside or in one of the seating areas scattered around the complex.
Although each cabin has a private sitting area, the relative proximity between the cabins means that there is no complete privacy, so on the way to the shared jacuzzi spa or pool you can meet other guests.

The hosts: You would like neighbors like that
Yiffit and Eli are hosts that should be preserved in Naphthalene for future generations: warm and kind people who naturally entertain people. The kind of people who just drop by to visit them... you don't need to notify or make a schedule in your calendar, just come. It is important for them to be very accessible to the requests of the guests and have no other matters that will divert attention from the premises and the guests (except the grandchildren). The B&Bs are their work and hobby: welcoming the guests, cleaning, answering questions, guiding, and "preparing breakfasts that will be enough for lunch as well" (quoted by Yipit).

In conclusion: it's good that this place has been kept as an available option throughout the years. In a reality where complexes rise and fall, there is something special knowing that this place continues to offer, as usual, what it knows how to do best: combine warm and welcoming hospitality with a truly extraordinary view.
