The "Brown House" is a colorful and elaborate guest house, striking in its view and super special atmosphere - the brown house in Sapir in the Arava is the dream of every Instagram user. The furniture is recycled and super vintage, the concept is ecological and the experience is desert like the poet intended.

Location and ambience

The brown house is located in the settlement of Sapir in the Arava - 50 minutes from the Dead Sea, an hour and a quarter from Eilat. When you arrive at the corner house located at the edge of the settlement, you cannot ignore the impressive building that greets you. If you like your desert view and your silence at high volume - here you will find both in abundance.

What does the place include

The hot house has 4 bedrooms suitable for up to 8 guests (maximum 3 children): two rooms are doubles with a TV in each room, and private bathrooms and toilets that correspond with the desert design line . A third and small room, including three single beds (bunk, mainly for children) and this room also has its own shower and toilet. The fourth room is a double room with its own private access and also has a private bathroom, kitchenette, outdoor bath and another yard. 

Upon entering the place, you pass through a colorful courtyard where you can find recycled wooden items, seating areas, a large dining table, an impressive barbecue area and a shaded upper dipping pool embedded in a thin platform.

When you enter the house, you discover a spacious space designed in the American style of the 1920s in Texas - wood is the dominant item in the design, and the brown color dominates here as well as outside.

The first to welcome us was the kitchen designed in a rustic style, spacious and equipped with all good things (even fruits and vegetables were waiting for us on the counter). Next to the kitchen is a massive wooden dining area with a super cool bench, suitable for up to 10 diners.

We continue to move forward and discover two sitting areas (one of which even opens into two single beds for sleeping two adults) offered by the living room space - both are pleasant and pampering, and add some color to the monochromatic house. You won't find a TV here, but board games, books and other ideas to spend your time like you spend in the desert - there is no shortage here.

A pleasant surprise is found in the basement of the house - you go down the stairs and under the ground you discover a super worth and pampering dry sauna - all just yours.

 In the backyard of the house you will find a dining area, and a cool rocking bed for lounging.

You should know

The immersion pool is elevated (at a height of 4 wooden steps) and is not fenced - and this requires extra attention when you are staying with children

The house is in the heart of a desert

Before your stay, you will receive information from the hosts about a variety of activities in the area

We left with a feeling of

The brown house is a place with a desert statement and an eclectic vibe. The hospitality experience here is truly an experience, much thanks to the design that corresponds perfectly with the atmosphere outside, and the hosts who thought of every detail.

A wonderful house with a pool and sauna for family fun and with friends
It starts with good communication with the owner of the place, it is obvious that she loves the house and it is felt in every corner of it. The place is clean, cozy, with a variety of seating areas depending on the sun and the wind, the linens and towels are pleasant, the dishes are beautiful, in short, everything is perfect!

A magical and peaceful indulgence
A large and spacious house. Each shower room has attached toilets. A pleasant heated pool, a well-equipped barbecue corner. Many seating areas including hammocks. The kitchen is fully equipped. Board games and books. We arrived to celebrate a birthday and a sign, balloons, and krambos were waiting for us. The spacious garden includes sitting areas and many other surprises. The location of the villa is a minute from the exit to the breathtaking desert. The host Ayelet is available and charming, provided us with recommendations on the entire area. We also got early check in and late check out. In short, start packing...

A real pleasure
The villa is equipped with everything you can think of. So much fun we didn't want to leave. We spent the holiday perfectly. Ayelet the host is lovely, provided links in advance to everything relevant in the area, left treats and allowed us to leave late. They even set the table for us for the holiday dinner. Worth every penny!

High quality, chic and maintained
Designed at a high and chic level. Everything is in a well maintained place and it is obvious that they have thought of the smallest details. (Books, games, plenty of cooking and serving utensils, full of seating areas inside and outside, a really heated pool, a bag of ice, milk, etc.). From the yard you can see the desert and you can make trips from the house. It is highly recommended

A great vacation in Arava
We came as an extended family with the children, the couple and grandchildren, the vacation was magical, we hardly left the house, we cooked, cooked on the fire, enjoyed the heated pool and the pleasant yard, in the front a sunny courtyard and in the back a wonderful balcony, a wonderful place. We couldn't use the sauna because the door doesn't close, I'm sure there will be a solution for this later, we had a great time, many thanks to the host Ayalat.
