Editor's note: The B&B owner's response appears below the surfers' opinions
Surfers' opinions:
We do not share the opinion that this is a heavenly B&B. We were very disappointed and our marriage was ruined today because of the experience.
First of all, when we called, we intended to repeat the visit to what later turned out to be Sarah's mansion at the beginning of our engagement. Although we called Shula by mistake, she answered that her B&B met our description exactly and that she would be happy to make the B&B available to us the next day for the whole day. We said we would leave Tel Aviv around noon and we will arrive in the afternoon (she asked not before four). Around four we received a call from Shula and were asked to say when we would arrive. We gave a guess and then decided to stay to eat and arrive a little later. Shola called and scolded us at six that she could have let others stay longer, and cleared for us and why we hadn't arrived yet, and why we just told her....we already felt weird.
When we arrived the B&B was completely different from what we remembered and she said - yes that's right, "the other one is cleaned there is nothing to do". Later it turned out that the second one was owned differently as mentioned. We decided not to argue because we already wanted to rest, but the picture of Olmert on the wall in combination with the heavy executive furniture and the lack of privacy that the windows provide - was not to our liking at all and did not remind us of the second B&B and the experience it provided.
But beyond that - even though we mentioned that as parents of a six-month-old baby girl we mainly come to sleep and gather energy to take care of her - at six thirty/seven in the morning we woke up due to very poor acoustics to sounds of interaction with a baby - Shola's grandson, as well as the drumming of heels that sounded as if they were in her bed We tried to sleep. Despite the text messages, the noises didn't stop, and when I got up angrily to wake up, Shola argued with me in an unpleasant way instead of apologizing and said: "No one before you complained about it, don't worry - now it will stop. We took the child to daycare for you, now I told the assistant to take off your heels and you can sleep." .
Needless to say, after tossing and turning for hours, we fell asleep and the second day of the trip was over, and our plan became sleeping instead of going out to eat and we canceled the places in the restaurant. Shula asked us to leave at half past four because they were coming to fix the air conditioner in her room, and we couldn't stay in peace to rest after all that was said.
In short - really not recommended. Even if the cherry trees are indeed nice and the breakfast is nice - they are not worth the small jacuzzi, the lack of wine (there are only glasses) and normal sized towels, and certainly not the dismissive and scolding attitude.
We hope that the comment will appear on the site and not be shelved - otherwise we will conclude that the site is on behalf of and publish this as well :)
Below is the response of the owner of the bed and breakfast:
First, I'm sorry you had a bad experience. I do everything so that the guests in my complexes are satisfied, and all the good reviews on the summit website will testify to that.
For your claims:
- Around 12 you called to ask when you would get the room, you were told that it would be around four and that you are invited to arrive before and stay in the pool complex until the room is ready.
- Around 18 I called to see how you were doing out of concern.
- Regarding the claim that I misled you in choosing the B&B - according to the description you gave at the time of booking - the "Vine" unit answered the description. In retrospect, it turned out that you probably meant a different B&B altogether, "Sara's Manor" in the Western Galilee, and for that I am sorry.
- Regarding the claims about the noise - the "Vine" unit is located upstairs, with windows to the view in complete privacy. There was indeed a baby in my house, my grandson, and in the morning, unexpectedly, he was a little noisy. I took care of the matter immediately and told you he was on his way to the kindergarten.
- There was no maid that day in the compound, surely no heels were worn there...
- At the time of the reservation, I informed you that you would have to vacate the B&B at the appointed time (4:30 p.m.), because a technician was invited to the unit that day. After your request, I canceled the technician and allowed you to stay until close to seven in the evening.
- Contrary to what you wrote there was wine, the towels were large and there were also bathrobes.
In conclusion, once again, I'm sorry you didn't enjoy it, and I promise to continue and do everything so that the guests in my complexes enjoy quality romantic hospitality at a reasonable price.
