It appears that it's no longer necessary to introduce the boutique hotel Bayit Begalil, which nestles in the Birya forest, next to Zefat. In any case, please permit me to do so: the gorgeous building, whose reputation has traveled far, is spread out over 32 dunams of natural forest, offering an extraordinary experience of luxury, elegance and character of international dimensions. Guests will enjoy a variety of exclusive services from a five-star level hotel, with the privacy and intimacy of a country estate.
Location and ambience
"A house in the Galilee" in the forest of Biriya
It seems that the boutique hotel "Beit Bagalil" located in the Biriya forest near Safed - no longer needs to be introduced. But nevertheless, I must fulfill the task: the beautiful complex, whose reputation has spread far and wide, spreads over thirty-two acres of natural woodland, and offers an unprecedented experience of luxury, elegance and character on an international scale. Here, guests enjoy a variety of exclusive services of a five-star hotel, with the privacy and intimacy of a rural hospitality estate.
The location of the hotel in a thick forest distinguishes it from similar accommodations in Israel, and gives it a natural and peaceful atmosphere. The magnificent building in Byzantine style is huge and contains 26 designed suites. It is built entirely of Galilean stone and resembles an ancient castle, surrounded by an atmosphere of mystery and magic. The natural park that stretches around the building is rich in hiking trails and romantic secluded corners, and allows guests to be amazed by the magnificent sights of primordial and untamed nature and the views of the Galilee mountains.
The huge swimming pool complex and spa jacuzzi is located at a wonderful vantage point in the woods facing the spectacular view. And I, who is usually careful not to overdo the compliments when writing the review, is not so successful in holding back this time. This is an amazing place. And I'm not exaggerating.
The experience begins even before arriving at the hotel. The driveway, winding through a forest of cypress and pine trees, takes me higher and higher and with each turn my curiosity grows. The last twist is completed and I am standing in front of an impressive iron gate, indicating the entrance to the hotel area.
The vast area in front of me brings to mind images from classic movies and I feel as if I have come to visit the abode of a European aristocrat. For a brief moment I regretted not dressing properly and even regretted choosing flat shoes - but one of the charms of the place, as I soon learned, is the ease of its guests and managers.
The feeling of being "out of the country" did not leave me for a moment during my visit here. Apart from conversations in Hebrew that I heard from the guests, nothing here hinted at my presence in Israel. Tuscan sights outside, classic European design inside, the elegant and refined atmosphere is so different from what I know in Israel.
While waiting for the manager of "Beit Bagalil", Tali Nebo, I explored the magnificent hall of the hotel, and again and again I was amazed by the rare quality of the sophisticated design of the spacious lobby, rich in seating areas with comfortable sofas around the fireplace under huge lighting fixtures in the form of chandeliers. The many spaces that allow guests privacy are also impressive, and I was also impressed by the quiet and pastoral atmosphere that prevails here.
The huge area of the entrance floor is divided into the central space which serves as a lobby, and a "knight's room" suitable for hosting conferences, fairs and private events. A gourmet restaurant located on a beautiful terrace overlooking the landscape, offers dishes for gourmets in a European style with a Galilean aroma. On the other side of the entrance floor is the spa treatment complex which contains professional treatment rooms and a sauna. The treatments, by the way, can also be ordered in the rooms and even take place in nature, in the many cute corners prepared for this.
26 luxury suites are located across the two floors of the hotel, with the corridor spaces decorated to a level no less than the rooms themselves, offering many tea corners surrounded by libraries with plenty of quality books, board and thinking games, art displays and classic pictures.
Four "De Luxe" suites designed in a classic and meticulous style create a refined and elegant atmosphere. The suites are decorated in shades of green, brown or purple and contain quality furniture made of solid wood in an antique style, dark wood flooring, soft and caressing lighting, and light shading curtains. A clean and refined color palette gives the suite space a royal and elitist feeling.
Guests will find here a luxurious living room in front of an LCD screen with a cinema system, a fireplace for heating, a wardrobe system and more. In the corner there is a desk table for the convenience of the guests. A separation curtain between the central space and the sleeping area creates privacy and romantic intimacy. A KING SIZE bed with a luxurious orthopedic mattress stands on a wooden podium. The designed bathroom has a jacuzzi tub.
"Senior" suites are designed in a light country style and boast a spectacular view from the windows. Here, too, the guests will find the same high-quality and luxurious equipment as in the "De Luxe" rooms.
The unique "Terrace Suite" contains a spectacular balcony with a view and includes a living room and a separate bedroom. I didn't have a chance to visit the "Terrace" suite because it was occupied. But in light of my impressions of other suites, I tend to believe the hotel manager that this is a beautifully designed unit.
In addition to all that I have mentioned above, I will mention the additional services in which the hotel guests get to indulge: a gym, ping pong tables, guided tours by a seasoned and experienced guide, a variety of workshops and lectures (with additional charge).
In conclusion , I will tell you (in secret) about the past of the "Beit Bagalil" hotel. The owners and founders of the hotel initially saw it as a closed exclusive abode that only the lucky few who were personally invited were allowed to visit.
A few years ago the hotel was opened to the general public and since then it has gained great popularity among Israelis and many tourists thanks to its unique qualities. To the credit of the owners, they definitely managed to maintain the unique, exclusive and rare feeling that is so rare in our districts. Yes. It may be time for you to indulge yourself and enjoy this place...
