This complex of four identical stone suites, where the first two enjoy full private yards - a long, stone construction containing the suites, reminding one of the architecture of the founding members' homes.
The interior yards are surrounded by fruit trees for full privacy. This is a great place to sip your morning coffee and glimpse the sun through the trees.
The interior design is natural grace: plaster stone walls in golden cream; natural, soft lighting, airy muslin drapes, an antique floor rug, magnificent paintings, retro lighting fixtures, for a light, soft atmosphere.
A massive bed of dark wood is in the center ofthe room. It has an orthopedic mattress and embroidered cotton sheets. There's a large bench and clothes closet. A large LCD screen sits opposite a corner sofa set with retro chairs and a round dining table.
These suites do not have a kitchen, but do have a lovely coffee nook. With the abundance of dining possibilities in the region, we don't think you'll havea problem. The bathroom is spacious, and the shower has a rain shower head.
Nothing will help, the old colonies have a charm that no community extension with half acre lots can compete with. These are the beautiful stone houses and the ancient people, who seem to be made of the same stone. This is the history and the stories that hide under every bush. 'Zikhron' is perhaps the best example of such a colony and Khan-Smadar is an excellent way to enjoy it, in style and only half a meter from the center.
This is a typical 'memorial' compound with a historical story, and today it is restored and maintained. But it's only when I enter each of the four suites that I realize that I've arrived at a real boutique hotel, with a precise and solid design that complements the restored stone buildings. There are 4 suites here with an attached garden, and if you want to meet some people like you, then you can do it in the lounge bar over a good breakfast, or in the pool.
Moti and Esti, the owners of the place direct me and right before the pedestrian street I turn left and move in time to 1800 or so. A picturesque stone house is the first thing that catches the eye. "This was my grandfather's stable" says Muti, and I think that with all due respect to the horses, and there is respect, I prefer the current designation: a beautiful lounge-bar that is intended, among other things, for breakfasts, and looks as if it came out of a design magazine that devoted a chapter to Provence.
If you still feel in Israel, take a look at the large window in the inner wall. In the next room there are chubby barrels dozing. "You didn't say you were making wine!" I turn to Moti, but he is ahead of me and hands me a glass. In a second, salty snacks and homemade cheeses join the celebration. Who has the strength to go see the suites now?...
An hour and three 'Zikhron' stories later, we swing towards the structure deep in the area. We barely manage not to fall into the large swimming pool on the way and arrive at a large H-shaped house with a paved patio in front.
4 doors lead from the map to the suites which also seem to have been specially designed for the baron's officials who arrived from France a century or so ago. There are cream-colored walls, long curtains and wooden furniture that screams Europe - which coincides with the fact that quite a few tourists come here. There is a high ceiling, a large bathroom and a nice balcony for your morning espresso.
A tree garden that surrounds the house gives reasonable privacy from the neighbors and a spa jacuzzi that hides among the trees completes the picture.
On the way out, I realize that the neighbor on one side is Sarah the hero of Nili, and on the other side the pedestrian street with its galleries and sweet cafes. Between the glorious history, and the updated present, Khan Samdar is a great combination between the worlds.
The suites at "Khan Samdar" are built without a kitchenette but offer a graceful coffee corner. Considering the abundance of dining options in the area, the lack of a kitchen is not a significant disadvantage.
The location here is perfect - just a meter from the picturesque pedestrian street of Zichron. In the complex there is a private boutique winery, which offers excellent wines and breakfasts are served in the lounge bar located in a romantic building from the 19th century that was once used as a stable. Spa treatments can be ordered to the suites.

My husband and I spent 2 nights at Khan Samdar and enjoyed Moti and Esther's warm hospitality so much!
Among the only places in Israel that offer equal value for the price - quality, pampering and excellent treatment!
We will definitely come back to visit and we will definitely recommend!
