..."Kokoriko is indeed a unique complex, just like its humorous name. It is an especially large suite that offers its guests everything: from a heated swimming pool in the courtyard, through an abundance of quality refreshments to a roof garden with a hot tub..."
[From the reviewer, Natasha Steinberg]
Advantages and disadvantages - a review from the field
The uniqueness of "Kokuriko" is based on the fascinating contrast between the pastoral exterior and the updated urban design of the interior of the B&B. The sophisticated game of "city versus village" that characterizes the complex allows its guests to enjoy the advantages of the worlds that have been brought together here: the quiet beauty of the Golan Heights, the sights and scents of nature, panoramic views, an atmosphere of calm - against the modernist, artistic and luxurious character of the large, well-designed and equipped suite. The proximity to the Artists' Village also plays its part.
Surroundings: 3 minutes walk from the Artists' Village
I will mention here that in addition to the many qualities offered by the B&B, guests receive a "bonus": the B&B is a 3-minute walk from the Artists' Village located at the entrance to the settlement. Here you can admire (and purchase) a variety of works of art, including pictures, decorative objects, ceramics, organic products, and more. Two restaurants - a kosher meat restaurant and a dairy restaurant - will provide guests with a culinary experience in a romantic European atmosphere.
The "Kokoriko" complex is located in the outer shell of the settlement - which ensures a high and isolated location, and allows a direct line to the view.
The complex and the suite:
The "Kokuriko" suite is located above the host house, in complete privacy and with a separate entrance. In the backyard of the complex, intended for suite guests only, is the heated swimming pool. The privacy of the pool is partial due to its exposure to the neighboring house.
The suite itself is built as a large space with a sleeping gallery, and a large attached balcony. "Inside – Tel Aviv, outside – National Geographic" is exactly how one of its guests summed up the experience of visiting the "Kokuriko" complex. Well, I couldn't have defined the concept of the place better. When you go up to the suite, you reach a huge, covered balcony, which offers a variety of cozy lying corners, barbecues, vegetation areas and, of course, a view of the landscape.
Inside the balcony, there is a surprise hidden – a pampering soft tub jacuzzi, which gets extra credit at night – when the colored lighting makes it especially romantic.
The direct view of the landscape includes Mount Hermon and the fields of the Golan Heights, while from the huge balcony you can see the Sea of Galilee, Mount Tabor and the Galilee Mountains. The brilliant design solutions in the two-story space include, among other things, non-standard use of windows, a display of interesting collections consisting of original art pieces.
The suite space is spread over the ground floor, which serves as a living room and kitchen, and a sensual sleeping gallery with a wide bed made with custom carpentry. One of the brilliances of the design here is the abundance of windows of various shapes and sizes, which are "responsible" for the soft lighting and the "embedding" of the landscape within the space as part of the decoration.
A wealth of lighting solutions, including numerous spotlights, allow you to tailor the atmosphere to the situation with the utmost precision. Tasteful photographs and prints, and additional decorative details (note the special ceramic dishes on the kitchen shelf) are combined with a clean and precise interior design based on a neutral color palette with touches of powerful red.
Two small balconies connected to the living room floor space and the huge window "attract" visitors to the place to view the view up close.
The host: Creator of an experience
Instead of telling you dry details about David Peled, the owner and host, I might just quote him: "We thought about couples like us who sometimes want to take a break from the race of life and dive into a peaceful and relaxing vacation, strengthen our relationship, enjoy each other, experience together..." From our perspective, he succeeded. Another thing that perhaps indicates the nature of David's hospitality is the abundance of quality refreshments (including particularly high-quality wine and special cheeses) served in the suite.
In conclusion
This is definitely an unconventional complex created by a person with unconventional thinking. The feeling you get here, when a couple is staying in complete privacy, is of a whole world that is all good, with thought given to every detail, all yours. Add to that an excellent location and a great view and you have one of the most exceptional complexes we have reviewed recently.
