Stone houses, a huge orchard, inspiration. This is how romance is built.
"Turn right and park next to the horse..." Tali, the owner of the place, directs me. She welcomes me at the entrance, next to a dark-hued stone hut. "So where are the other huts?" I ask her, remembering that there are supposed to be 4 here. Tali points towards a tangled green clump. "Are you kidding me?" I think, but she's not kidding. She leads me down a path that winds through a jungle of plants, between small streams of water, and slowly a hut and another one are revealed.
Half a dunam in the far north, coming into southern Lebanon. That's the most I've managed to get my hands on in my attempts to fulfill the most Israeli cliché there is: 'house-yard-dog.'
"There will be a lemon tree here," I fantasized, "we'll make a lawn here so the kids can play soccer" (but only one goal. There's no room for two...). And that's even better. The word 'space' is gradually being erased from the lexicon of our dwarf country. A lemon tree? More and more people are content with a pot with a bonsai tree these days...
Tell Tali about it from 'Beit Bateva' in Moshav Sde Eliezer. 'Nachala'. That's what the moshavniks call it. I call it a crazy expanse of 5 dunams and another 15 dunams of orchard where my lemon blushes with shame from the abundance of fruit trees...
Close to the entrance to the complex and a good distance from the cabins lies the host house and adjacent to it is a shared hospitality space that is used for custom-ordered dinners and various activities. Further along the complex, a large indoor "zoola" with a large (shared) spa jacuzzi overlooking the mountains and the orchard. And when I say 'orchard' I mean the orchard. 15 dunams (!) of fruit trees, romantic corners and paths that are fun to get lost in and reach the fields.
The cabins at "Beit Bateva" are cute and intimate with a small and really sweet living room, a bedroom and a kitchenette (except for the "Hibiscus" cabin, which has one space). There is an LCD screen, a fireplace and lots of books, movies and magazines, and there is also a jacuzzi on the balcony (except for "Hibiscus" - where the jacuzzi is inside, and "Oren" which does not have a jacuzzi). "Our guests prefer to sit on the balcony" says Tali. I don't blame them. When you see the private balconies surrounded by greenery, you will feel the same way too.
This is a large complex with beautiful paths, fine landscaping and streams that offer a large distance between the cabins with lush vegetation that provides privacy. The units themselves are comfortable, well-equipped in most cases and offer an excellent romantic getaway thanks to the privacy and the vast orchard that provides plenty of romantic and intimate corners.
What’s on the site?
Three stone houses in a huge, 13-acre orchard. You can stroll through the flowering garden, sit in a hammock or chairs in the shade of the fruit trees and admire the herb garden and decorative river stones.
In the center of the garden surrounding the suites is a large Jacuzzi and sauna, shared by the three suites.
The suites have charming, private terraces and the main spaces are divided into a central living room and comfortable bedroom. Beautiful paintings grace the walls, with other art objects delighting your eyes. Each suite is lit by natural light that combines with the calming color scheme.
The living room has a comfortable sofa set facing an LCD screen; there's a fireplace, a dining nook and kitchenette. The bedroom has a wrought iron bed, a large clothes cupboard, a makeup table and large mirror.
The bathroom is spacious, with a rain shower head in the shower. The breakfasts here are heavenly, served on a wood table on the stone terrace. And everything is homemade!!!
The Oren Suite is especially designed to be accessible to the handicapped.
The new unit, Hibiscus House, is constructed as an open space (50 m), equipped with Jacuzzi spa and rain shower head. A large, deck terrace is surrounded by green foliage, for a romantic, serene atmosphere. The unit and yard are well secluded with fruit trees for total privacy.
Inside, the pastoral atmosphere continues with massive country wood furniture, including a comfortable bed with orthopedic mattress and cotton sheets, a lovely living room set, an LCD screen connected to cable and home entertainment system, and a Jacuzzi Spa.
This unit does not have a kitchenette, but guests are welcome to enjoy a coffee or tea from the espresso machine.
One of the most beautiful B&Bs we've had the chance to stay in, a quiet and pastoral atmosphere, the B&B is of a very high quality and equipped with everything you need, it's really evident that thought was put into the small details, and also the overall picture.
There are lots of beautiful and private wooden niches to sit and relax, surrounded by only (and sorry for the cliche..) chirping birds, trees and a great breeze. There was even a fun and huge jacuzzi. And all this was next to a stunning fruit orchard!
The host couple are charming and helpful people (we asked for directions, advice for activities in the area, etc., everything was answered with a smile and patience).
Definitely going back there. and also! They received our big and perfect dog with a smile, so they bought us anyway :)
Yariv and Daniel
When this is this - this is this!
Starting with the first phone call with the hosts, continuing with a wonderful welcome for us and our dog and entry not to the B&B but to the corner of Heaven and not to the end of the world but only in Eliezer Field - we knew this was it.
The B&B has everything you need for a pleasant, quiet and relaxed weekend - not to mention the little surprises in the kitchen (you can feel Tali's touch).
Upon exiting the guest house, there is a window that brings you to a balcony where you can enjoy a breathtaking view.
At a distance of a few steps you can go down to a forest of several tens of dunams of forest, fruit trees and again a rare silence that probably no longer exists in our world.
The summer heat is not felt here - the air conditioner is excellent and the wind outside just plays.
In conclusion, a 6-star experience and you will be amazed not abroad but by the hands of people who know very well what they are doing.
Thank you thank you and thank you again!
A variety of locally produced refreshments, wine and fruit from the orchard, cookies and chocolates.
