"..."You came right on time," Bar - the cool young hostess - welcomes me, "I made a cake with excellent taste." She leads me to 2 non-standard wooden cabins, a large garden separates them and provides great privacy. "7 minutes walk and you're at the sea," she says, pointing to a bug in the settlement fence. I remember to keep 7 minutes and head to the private outdoor areas of the cabins. There's grass, hammocks, seating areas, an outdoor shower and everything you need to get into the atmosphere of a decent seaside cabin." [From the reviewer, Yair Sheinberg]
Location and ambience
In three words:
A sea of pleasure
In 322 words:
When I was a kid, I lived in Mikhomoret for a year, and the truth is, I hated every moment. I didn't find myself among those tanned beach boys with their burnt dreadlocks, I went crazy about the sand, and no matter how hard I tried, I couldn't stand on a surfboard for more than a second. 30 years later, I arrived at Ruach Yam and came away with two conclusions:
1. I was a bit of a mischievous child.
2. It's really a shame to bring children to a place like this.
It starts at the Yanai Interchange, when I say goodbye to the traffic jams on Route 2. "Reuven schedules 45 minutes from Batzelet to Olga," they say in Gilgalatz, and I think about the unfortunate people who are just starting the journey to some northern B&B, while I'm already parked on the border of the dunes at the end of Michmorot - meters from one of the best beaches in the country...
"You're right on time," Bar, the cool young hostess, greets me. "I made a cake with excellent taste." She leads me to two non-standard wooden cabins, a large garden separating them and providing great privacy. "A 7-minute walk and you're at the sea," Bar says, pointing to a bug in the settlement fence. I remember to keep the 7 minutes and head to the cabins' private outdoor areas. There's grass, hammocks, seating areas, and everything you need to get into the atmosphere of a decent seaside cabin (the shower is a sweet outdoor shower for those returning from the beach).
I climb two steps to a wide "deck" balcony and enter the living room that continues to radiate the sea. The simple and beautiful 'marine-style' design combines shades of blue and elements of the sea with works by Janet - the owner of the place and an artist. (Did you like it? You can buy the works and also take a tour/ceramics workshop in the studio next door).
There is a fully equipped kitchen for cooking, a bedroom equipped with an LCD screen, and a cute living room with stairs to an additional sleeping gallery – for those unlucky enough to not find a place for the children...
One cabin has a jacuzzi, the other just a bathtub, but that's not the point here anyway. The point is the sea. In the belly-and-back of the summer or rather in the super-romantic beach trips of the winter, in the smell of salt, in the sound of the waves that you hear as soon as you turn off the car, and in cabins designed especially for lovers of the big blue. When it happens so close to the center, you have to be a masochist to give it up.
Since I'm not a masochist, I'm going to call my dad now and tell him off for giving up on it, giving in to his whiny son, and not staying here...
